Love this video thank you! I had many questions on this exact topic because it seemed like top streamers were holding close to the wall and I wasn’t sure if that was for higher levels games or they just had better comps to react faster. This helped provide a clear vision of when to hold tight and wide.
Great vid. Would you consider making a similar one for 100T Asuna? I kinda wanna (try to) adapt his playstyle but I could never do an analysis this could. Like where do you even begin doing something like this? Mad respect for being able to do smth like this(and sharing it.)
can you do how to play like primmieyk? please? (kiwzuu_ on twitch)
with that pearl clip where you get the 3K, how did you know if they would swing you or hold you after the initial kill? were you just banking on them all swinging to trade
I figured they would all swing to trade. No reason for them to hold me I think since time was against them. They're trying to push onto site to defuse. If it wasn't the case & I had to be the aggressor. Then they likely could've held or fallen back
“So I’m fighting for A, and I get blinded by my Omen…” lmao relatable
FR
@dopai can you explain how to buffer?
Give your crosshair a gap from the wall. How much of a gap depends on many factors such as how close/far away from the angle you are, if you think they're going to jiggle/wide swing, what type of angle(common or off angle) and your reaction time
Can someone give me a tldr so I can screenshot it when I play
Great vid dopai
I stg even at immortal level I ve always had issue with the third scenario you re talking about in this video, thanks the help now it s getting better in no time
1:49 is this a throwback to charley from its always sunny? 🤣
Hey hey hey hey hey... You didn't need to call me out like that at the very start of the video 😢
Like biting an apple?
What no “put crosshair head level” surely that’s not right. It definitely should’ve been said lol. This is 10000x more informative than the other’s that tell you head level. We all know head level obviously but this video says it perfectly. Knowing where to put your crosshair in different situations is much better just saying head level because then you are head level and wondering how you are missing their heads while full aiming into a wall while scaling.
Can't believe it took me this long to figure out how to address this. It's one of the most common ways I die and it was hard to tell if I was fucking up my movement or crosshair
I actually realized this from a guy names pros or some shit and he just emphasized the shit outta aiming like your not cheating hence giving you leeway to react. I saw this hella in geeza’s sherif only as he would swing into people w his crosshair super wide
I'm usually a 38-40% hs percentage, but lately it's been dropping and i feel I've hit more for 78 with a couple shots to the shoulders. I also feel when I flicky, I'm more align with their collarbone lately. Any advice to correct this?
I saw you talk about this in another video somewhere and I've been working on it a lot. It actually makes a huge difference. I used to preaim Into the wall way too much.
THIS VIDEO BROUGHT ME FROM BRONZE TO PLAT THANK YOU DOPAI!
damnnnn this is something nobody talks about !!! thanks for the info man
Thanks for reminding me of the basics. I was basically on a 200rr downswing and after watching this video gained 75rr back
F U N D A M E N T A L S. Always good to return to the basics
What does he means by "buffer"? Anyone can explain it ? Thanks in advance btw.
Buffer basically just means a gap. Leave space between the wall/angle and your crosshair.
na uh
Question: I've actually recently started developing this new aiming technique with buffer peeking (Referred to as #3 in your video). I used to only ever pre-aim but buffer aiming feels so much more consistent for the reasons of not having to flick back. The biggest concern that I have for this is, if you are basically buffering your crosshair like this, do you peek slower to a SIGNIFICANT degree compared to preaim peeking. Basically, I'm concerned about the speed of the peek while buffer peeking.
I think it is a noticeable difference. However if they are peeking while you are also peeking. Then that difference is likely not noticeable. But if they are holding you, and you do that type of peek. It might be enough for them to insta kill you. Hence if they're holding you should opt for the pre-aim method instead
@@Dopai I see okay
@@Dopai I mean statistically speaking, would you guess 20% more likely to one tap you while buffer aiming? Due to slower movement.

Might be the best one you've ever produced ngl. Straight to to point, very clear message, precise and very digestable. Appreciate the effort you put into this. ❤
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. Why do you think the video is performing how it is compared to others? Would love some feedback
I just saw your peeking video the other week and commented on this exact topic. Very glad you made this video because it feels like a correction to what I keyed in on in the previous. You called dedicated peeking your bread and butter when in reality leaving a gap is more likely the case except for in very specific scenarios when you know you cannot get peaked. Great content.
Glad the 2 videos made it come together. Dedi peeking is something that people just don't do much at all. Which is where I feel like I thrive compared to other players. But like you side having a gap is more common
solid video :D
having a situational part of this video would've been helpful to a lot of players. for example, crosshair placement when spamming through smokes, minimap pinging, using the boxes and your players to adjust your crosshair to proper head level, also how crosshair placement changes depending on the role you play. being second in into a site means that you clear a few angles and then when your duelist is clearing angles and walking up to take space, its INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT to hold the angle the person in front of you has already cleared. one more thing is paying attention to the utility your enemies have used (comming in a clutch situation where you know jett has already used updraft or paying attention to how many satchels raze has to hold for the double satchel and ult). even though its not as bare-bones as mechanical crosshair placement, its important to cover that crosshair placement changes with utility awareness. many people dont do these and its very important in all elos.
Agreed, this definitely wasn't the video to address those nuances. But those are good things to mention for sure.
YIPPIE
I could really use a tenZ gunfights analysis rn
I needed this.
expecting an enemy to swing -> leave a buffer for their peek, they’ll go a bit wider in order to catch you expecting an enemy to hold -> hug the wall they’re likely to hold next to, they’ll be shallow so as to retreat if needed
!!!
Mom look goatpai uploaded!

W video, this + royalG's crosshair placement video complement each other beautifully. EDIT: BRO IDK WHAT BUT THIS VIDEO JUST MADE SOMETHING CLICK FOR ME, HOLY FUCK MY AIM FEELS SO MUCH BETTER WTF?

@@Dopai You remember me? Damn, thats actually really wholesome, and ye thats me xd

Yes good video coach!

Awesome video! Can you make a video on advice about how to best learn/know where head-level is? Even after many hours of practicing and really focusing on it, my crosshair always seems to be a little lower than it should be.
not sure if i'd ever make a video on this, but there are reference points to use on the map. like boxes or random lines designed by map creators for you to get a feel for what head height is. but tbh my head level is sometimes off too and that might just be how it is. especially on vertical angles, i think thats where having a bit of training in vertical aiming can help with this
thank you for this, i got a vod review once and they were trying to say my tracking was bad / sens too low because i gave myself a buffer when peeking instead of tracing right on the corner
that's interesting. i'd imagine there were other factors that went into that diagnosis but i can see how that conclusion could be made. hopefully my video helped clarify some of that though
Really solid video as always. Is it possible to make a video on what angles to pre-aim when attacking, or can you give some video recommendations? I feel like I'm not efficiently clearing each of my corners while scaling, and I've never found an effective way to do this. For example, when attacking bombsite B from the main area in Ascent, what angles should you clear first and in what order? Any advice would be much appreciated. :)
The first place to start would be yay's video here. ua-cam.com/video/2rUpglPIlQE/v-deo.htmlsi=jSQo3J2fZrKOnit7 But aside from that, when you're "scaling" into a site. There's a lot of factors like utility, what the enemy setup is, where your teammates are. So It's hard to do "effectively" which is why dive duelists are so important during an execute to make that initial space and simplify what angles you need to be looking at. Sometimes you'll see pros clear every single angle, and sometimes you'll see them clear maybe 1 or 2. You have to make that decision based on where you think they are going to be at. It's not an easy thing to do, but my suggestion to you is to not make it formulaic. It should be dynamic decisions that changes based on what factors you see.
@Dopai Yeah, you're right. I come from a counterstrike background, and pre-aiming is pretty formulaic although it can also vary time to time. It's probably not the best to do that in this game with all the abilities. I will take your advice and keep it dynamic. I feel like yay and cryo are really good at this. I'm going to watch their VODS and the VOD that you sent me to see what they do on a per-scenario basis. Thanks for the feedback; much appreciated :)
My goat uploaded a video
2 Questions: 1. Should the buffer be wider if you are peeking into a shorter angle? For example Lotus A peeking from site into tree. 2. Is this similar to tracing the crosshair along the edge of the wall? I feel like it's almost the exact same and I'm having trouble figuring out the difference. Thank you for this vid! I've been subconsciously wondering how to deal with situations where I get swung while swinging a ton. It always felt like whoever swung first would always have the advantage in those fights. Thank you so much forintroducing this idea and I'll definitely work on it!
1. The buffer should be wider the closer the angle is. I'm not picturing the shorter angle in my head. Lotus from site into tree if you're right next to tree would be wider. If you're back site, then that's likely going to be a pre-aim peek moment b/c they can't scale on you 2. Yes, tracing the crosshair along the edge of the wall is the same idea. However most people trace the edge of the wall. Either too close to the wall, or in the wrong moments. I was hoping to clarify that with this video
Haven't watched you in a few months but DAMN your mechs are looking clean
